UPDATE
At the May 20,2025 Special Council Meeting, the Township of Billings Council gave first reading to the draft Waste Management bylaw and stated that there shall be a 30-day period be given for public consultation. At the same meeting Council also passed a motion to accept the Waste Management Strategy Plan.
After reviewing the initial public consultation responses, it was determined that there was an oversight by not posting the Waste Management Strategy Plan along with the draft bylaw to provide background information to the township residents that there is a plan going forward to implement waste management measures that include waste diversion, recycling and composting. It should be noted that the Township is committed to the long-term objective of managing waste initiatives that will prolong the life span of the township landfill site and demonstrate stewardship in environmental concerns.
