PRESENT:
Reeve Aus Hunt, Council Members Margaret Tuomi, Sharon Alkenbrack, John Bright and Keith McKeen.
STAFF: Clerk Treasurer Kathy McDonald and Roads Superintendent Garry Miller.

04-240 Tuomi – Bright
BE IT RESOLVED THAT this regular meeting of the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Billings be opened for business with a quorum of members present at 7:30 p.m. with Reeve Hunt presiding in the Chair.

04-241 Bright – Tuomi
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Minutes of the July 19, 2004 regular meeting be accepted as presented.

04-242 Tuomi – Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Billings accept the 2003 Auditor’s Report as presented.
Carried

04-243 Alkenbrack – Tuomi
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Billings have the Reeve and Clerk sign the 2003 representation letter from Arthur, Rogers and Topp.
Carried.

04-244 Tuomi – Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Billings authorize the clerk to sign the 2004 Financial Information Return.

04-245 Tuomi – Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following accounts be approved for payment:
Public Works $ 6262.77
General Accounts $ 61409.09
And that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to sign cheques 3609 to 3656.

04-246 Bright – Alkenbrack
BE IT RESOLVED THAT the following accounts be approved for payment:
Water Capital $115,482.47
And that the Reeve and Clerk be authorized to sign cheques 1 and 2.

04-247 Alkenbrack – Tuomi
BE IT RESOLVED THAT we approve a 2% salary increase for staff. We also approve a salary of $38,000 for the Clerk Treasurer, retro active to January 1, 2004 for staff and retroactive to July 1, 2004 for the Clerk Treasurer.

04-248 Bright – Tuomi
BE IT RESOLVED THAT Council adjourn until our next regular meeting August 16, 2004 or Call of the Chair.
